Hello, I am relly glad you visit me! Lots of thanks
Nowadays,
mandalas are trending. You can see them everywhere, at colouring books, fashion clothes,
tattoos, prints…Therefore, I felt like drawing my first mandala, as surpringly
I had never done it before. Although I think some of my flowers looked like them, and when I was a child I drawed shapes very similar to Mandalas!
According
to Wikipedia definition, Mandala, (The Sanskrit term mandala roughly translates
to "magic circle" or "sacred circle")is a spiritual and
ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the Universe. The basic
form of most mandalas is a square with four gates containing a circle with a center
point.
In common
use, mandala has become a generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric
pattern often like a circle that represents the cosmos metaphysically or
symbolically; a microcosm of the universe.
You can see
lots of inspiring Mandalas pictures here, http://goo.gl/n0Cn45.
It is said that drawing or
colouring mandalas it is therapeutic
and, that you will experiment many psychological benefits of it.

Yesterday I wanted to try, drawing a center, in this case a little heart and to draw elements around it.
Yesterday I wanted to try, drawing a center, in this case a little heart and to draw elements around it.
I didn´t know what I was going to draw. I took my black
marked and started to draw shapes, but I was not slow trying to do it with
accuracy, only went with it while I was hearing Caetano Veloso songs.
I had a great fun making and seeing it how it was
growing…
My first idea was to draw a mandala full of bold colours, but at the the
result was not so childish as I expected, as it looked like a lace flower.
So, I decided to
paint it in a solid colour, just black or white.I think I thought about the henna mandalas designs which I love to.
Therefore,
I scanned it and clean it at photoshop. I realised when I zoomed it I had not been careful drawing in ink, as
there were not precise lines.
I have the craze of drawing my ink sketchings always on tracing papers.
Anyway I liked that loose hand look, and I
decided to continue to see where I was led to.
I decided
as I usually work with vectors, traced it automatically at illustrator,
although I must say I had to eliminate and improve some of the resulting jagged edges shapes.
As glitter or
brightness colours are trendy too, I tried to filled it with a golden paper I
had scanned, and I also make some gradient colours to fill it to see the
effect.
But I was
not fond of it. Perhaps I will more make more Mandala motivesm changes and colorways in order to
create a print with repeat.
Do you fancy drawing mandalas this week? I hope if you have not tried yet, give it a go!It is relaxing and funny!
